Small note: Pastor mentioned in his Easter message, “If each one take care of our hearts, the church is alive. Similarly, if each one in Shomerim, takes care and do their daily devotion, then Shomerim will stay alive. May we not be the first to resurrect at the 2 nd coming of the Lord! =p (if u remember the joke Pastor mentioned).

:: Dip in attendance of official events e.g. evangelism ::

Recently (or maybe not so recent), the attendance in major church events are poorly attended. The most recent is the saturday evangelism of which those who came are mostly from Ebenezer ppl.

I personally have failed in this area too due to poor prioritizing, planning and willingness to spread the Gospel. I've slept too late the night before (bad prioritizing and planning) and inability to wake up to go for it (unwillingness).

When i heard about the percentage of the youngster at the evangelism, i was ashamed of myself and also ashamed of the older members absence (shomerim) of such a important monthly event.

Not only are we disobeying God's Great Commission (to a certain extent) and not following the Church's direction in the matter of reaching out, we have become an bad example to youngsters and disheartening these young ones in continuing to work hard for the Lord.

Now only Alan have been faithful in keeping up with this holy appointment but i'm sure he struggles too.

Surely he will have reasons not to go but let us get real with God.

Are you sure you can tell the Lord your "reasons" for not going and He would find it acceptable?

Are you sure your priority is right with God?

Or is it just because of your own unwillingness, sloth and plain rebellious spirit for not going to such events?

Like i've said, i'm ashamed of my own conduct and asked for forgiveness from the Lord not just as a older member but also as a deacon of the church.

Brethren, whatever your state maybe in, let us strive hard to shake off all these sins that so easily beset us and go to the field to spread the Gospel!!!

Just to let you all know, i didnt plan with Alan to write this entry. It so happened that the Lord let me know about some comments from ebe and so happened Alan shared about this topic during pm. Surely God is speaking to us about this aspect!

I am resolved to go for the next evangelism and i hope all of you will be too.

Ashamed of my personal conduct before the Lord,
    Nick
