Small note: Pastor mentioned in his Easter message, “If each one take care of our hearts, the church is alive. Similarly, if each one in Shomerim, takes care and do their daily devotion, then Shomerim will stay alive. May we not be the first to resurrect at the 2 nd coming of the Lord! =p (if u remember the joke Pastor mentioned).

:: 4th Jul prayer meeting: A Life of Principled Obedience ::

    Psalm 119:57 - 60
Obedience = a conscious, whole-souled conformity to the precepts of God revealed in the Bible, with primary regard to the authority of God which stands behind those precepts

Roots (essentials) of a life of principled obedience v57
1.a saving choice of God, v57a “Thou art my portion, O LORD”
2.a determined commitment to serve God and to do His will, v57b“ I have said that I would keep thy words”

Climate (atmosphere) of a life of principled obedience v58
1.dependence upon God expressed in real prayer, v58a “I intreated thy favour with my whole heart:”
2.faith in God's promised provision, v58b “ be merciful unto me according to thy word”

Actual process of a life of principled obedience v59, 60
    1.Begins with honest self-examination according to God's Word v59
2.Conscious alteration of one's patterns of thoughts and behaviour v59b
3.Committed to universal and immediate obedience v60

I've heard that today's evangelism was poorly attended. I've explained my reason for my absence, what about you? Church is like a military organization, discipline and proper order is needed. We are accountable to God and also to men. We must explain our absence to our leaders so that "they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you." Hebrews 13:17.
