Small note: Pastor mentioned in his Easter message, “If each one take care of our hearts, the church is alive. Similarly, if each one in Shomerim, takes care and do their daily devotion, then Shomerim will stay alive. May we not be the first to resurrect at the 2 nd coming of the Lord! =p (if u remember the joke Pastor mentioned).

:: Re: Third Mount Ophir Expedition 2009 ::

Dear brethren,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Have you heard of Mount Ophir? Perhaps not and perhaps yes. Perhaps maybe. Do not fret because many of our ex-hikers has experienced this tough mountain and we never fail to bring back smiles.
:) In the year 2004, we had our second Mount Ophir trip, passionately called by the Malaysians as Gunung Ledang (not rendang!), and we had seen how God worked in every hiker's heart, character and mind. Most importantly, through this intense pressure and stress, we were able to understand one another in a better light. I have attached a photo of ours in this email dated year 2004. Look at everyone's smile. It was truly one of the most 'enjoyable' trip we ever had in our lives. Look at everyone's thumb-ups! (we just can't wait to dip that thumb of ours into the KFC chickens!: we had KFC for our dinner by courtesy of brother Amos. And yes, there might be free dinner for this trip!)
This year, we have organized another trip to Gunung Ledang on 6 - 8 July. For this trip, we're going to travel by train to Segamat followed by a night stay at a resting place. After which, we'll hire a cab and make our way to the foot of the hill. It'll take us 1.5 days to hike up the mountain to the summit and 0.5 days to hike down back to the foothill. Lastly, we'll hire a cab and make our way back to the train station. That's it! =)
We welcome everyone to join us in this event. There are two ways to register for this trip:
1. Join the facebook event at
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=57863121180#/event.php?eid=44415197443 .
2. Reply back this E-mail to let me know about it.
We look forward to your reply. Do not forget, the youths might have won the oldies in soccer but might not be for this hiking trip! Look out for jelly legs!
In Christ,
Daniel
