    Small note: Pastor mentioned in his Easter message, “If each one take care of our hearts, the church is alive. Similarly, if each one in Shomerim, takes care and do their daily devotion, then Shomerim will stay alive. May we not be the first to resurrect at the 2 nd coming of the Lord! =p (if u remember the joke Pastor mentioned).

    :: Mount Ophir Trip #3 ::

    Hi guys!

    There's been a small discussion about plans to trek mount ophir next year. Likely, in the march season. I hope to organize one of such event. I believe this could be one of the many ways to bond us together and to get out of our comfy zone. i'll plan the trip round december after my exams. As for now, do pray about it and encourage each other to go for it. It will be a very meaningful one (of course, wont have any military practice. That's for sure since this trip will be for everyone and not just for the soldiers).

    There will be more details given if the trip has been confirmed. And if it has been confirmed, a small group will plan and organize it. If you're interested in it, can come and look for me. If not, i'll go around hunting for people arrrrrrr............ :)

    Prior to the trip, a short 2-3 weeks physical build-up will be conducted to ensure preparedness for it. Mainly, it consists of one night outdoor stay in (ubin?), 1-3 jogs per week ranging from 2-4km, easy-going hiking at MacRitchie, and some sports (provided if we have the extra time). More information will be provided later..

    Remember brotherly love.. I'm learning from it and hope shomerim is trying our best to work on it too. Everything is possible through Christ who strengthen you and me... Take care guys, and God bless!!!

    071006:
    Some medical insights.. :) Actually, this building up of physical body is crucial. I read this book "Chronic pain solution" and the author mentions that most of the chronic or long-term pain often sparks off from lack of exercise. It could be mild or moderate. If we exercise and maintain a healthy diet, it will prevent us of any serious pain in future. Are you experiencing back pain or knee pain? Or maybe your spinal column down to your tailbone? It is always the same case. If we are able to build-up sufficient physical capacities to climb up mountain, I believe, in future, we will not face much of chronic illness. Often NSF like us do not exercise after our ORD, and result in pains and soarness. Injuries started much earlier before one is able to feel the pain. It is the lack of muscular strength that triggers off this pain and gives fiery pain signals into our brain. That's the reason why I hope to have a few sessions of exercises before going up the mountain.
