:: Christmas Caroling 2004 ::

I wondered, what can be improved for the Church Christmas caroling from the past. And I do hope, that this year Christmas caroling will be a better one. So after an evaluation of the last year christmas caroling, I realized we surely and truly lack of preparation. If someone asked us, "Have you prepared or just organize before you present to us, the public?" It will be very shameful to say "We have not, we just come and sing for you". A little preparation will be better. Of course, not very much preparation. Not those type of SATB (Soprano Alto Tenor Bass) parts together, and sing. It would be better if we know when to sing loud and harmonize it together. And organize the position of the singers. Therefore, I would like to suggest some things to the youth in our church. I do hope the youth can be involved in this christmas caroling.

1. Find places to settle down (Find two open air places, and one contingency plan in the enclosed area in case of rain). The enclosed area must be near the two open air places, and with shelter leading to that area.
2. Organization (I realized we organzied ourselves on the spot, which is not good. We took time to organize, and spent an amount of time discussing where to stand. The passer-by also will not have a good impression on us.) I suggest we organize the whole group beforehand in a neat form.
3. Guitars (The guitars were tuned together, but in the middle of the presentation, the guitar went out due to the hard strumming. I do hope to look into this) I do believe that there are four guitars or rather more in our church community.
4. Temporary Conductor (I do not know how to phrase it. But I will describe it. I realized that everybody started singing in their own timing, and it get so messy.) I do hope that a person may come out of the whole group, to conduct the singing. But, he or she will give the first timing, and will return back to the group to sing.
5. Youths to be more involved in evangelistic work (I realized the chinese speaking brethren did the evangelistic work). I do believe that this can be improved by having the some youths to do the evangelistic work.
6. Tracts (There seems to be a lack of tracts.) There are hundreds of hundreds of people passing by us. And suddenly, we lacked of tracts. So I believe we can prepare the tracts beforehand.
7. The reading of the Bible verses. I realized it is better to read the verses, instead of singing it. To read it loud enough and clear. And even better, to have a board or sign with the verses.
